What can possibly go wrong with the gear? Everything!

I would like to commence my list with a story of a broken yoke on Day 4 of running solo the Sturgeon River. Still two more days to go. The quick fix that took 45 minutes allowed me to take the rest of my portages in style.


The steps:

  1. Unscrew the broken yoke. 
  2. Cut the supporting stick to size.
  3. Tie the stick tight to the yoke with a cord. 
  4. Reattach the yoke.
